We’re celebrating BumHog Day on Saturday March 25th.
Come on Down to Oscars on Tejon St. Bring your friends and fellow BumHogs. It will start at 4PM and go until we decide we’ve finished celebrating. It’s a Bunker Jam so bring your instrument, or dancing shoes. We’ve gotten some BumHogs together as the BumHog Band to kick things off.
Now I know you un-initiated folks are asking what is a BumHog anyway. We’ll have the Commander there to tell you the whole story about how it got started. This is the 26th anniversary of the celebration which is held in several locations around the world. But suffice it to say that back then a couple of friends traveling around the country weren’t being treated well by folks and decided there and then to “TAKE NO MORE SHIT”. And that’s how it all got started.
For many years it was celebrated up in Divide at the old Whistle Stop Saloon. Then the celebration moved over the hill to Newcastle, just up the road from the big liquor store. Last year the local BumHogs celebrated at Oscars and those folks liked the idea and invited us back.
Now some of us take no shit all year long, some of us do. But here’s a day that everyone can stop taking it together.
So come on down, start early and stay late. And do join in the celebration. Do some jammin’ with your friends. All styles of music of course. Everyone one is welcome at a Bunker Jam.
